Germany Accelerates CCA Capabilities with MQ-28 Ghost Bat

Rheinmetall and Boeing are accelerating Germany's path to Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) capabilities. According to Rheinmetall, leading air forces worldwide are transitioning from concept phase to practical introduction of CCA, also known as strike-fighter drones, in air-to-ground operations. The German armed forces have corresponding plans.

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat, a mature platform developed by Boeing, is already available and meets the German requirements for both air-to-ground and air-to-air operations. Its high maturity level enables Germany to immediately build sovereign capabilities, including integration of German sensors, weapons, and mission software.

Rheinmetall is contributing as system integrator to ensure the accelerated build-up of CCA capabilities in Germany. Glen Ferguson, Boeing Defense Australia's Global Director of the MQ-28 program, notes that while many CCA programs are still in the concept or early test phase, the MQ-28A Ghost Bat has already completed these essential development steps.
