Global Airlines Cancel Flights Due to Embraer's GPS Fault

A critical GPS fault has affected Embraer's E190-E2 and E195-E2 jets, prompting airlines to cancel flights globally. The issue was first detected at Azul Linhas Aéreas in Brazil on Tuesday evening, with the plane maker opening a crisis room with avionics supplier Honeywell to investigate.

According to Aeroin.net, 24 airlines worldwide have over 200 aircraft equipped with Honeywell's Primus Epic 2.0 navigation systems. The fault has caused cancellations and delays at busy hubs in Canada, Brazil, and Europe, with airlines recommending customers check their itineraries before heading to the airport.

Embraer is jointly investigating the issue with Honeywell, promising to provide updates as progress is made by the technical support team. A temporary fix has been reported, but the error can still occur, and a permanent solution has not yet been created.
