Global Commission Unites AI Leaders for Responsible Innovation

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Salesforce have launched the AI for Good Global Commission to promote responsible, trustworthy, and inclusive Artificial Intelligence (AI) worldwide.

The commission brings together over 40 global leaders from governments, businesses, academia, and international organizations to ensure that AI contributes to sustainable development while reducing global digital inequalities.

The Indian government has secured significant representation in the founding commission through four distinguished industry leaders: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries; Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises; Lakshmi N. Mittal, Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal; and Vishal Talwar, President of FedEx Dataworks and Executive Vice President of FedEx Corporation.

The commission will work on creating global frameworks for ethical AI, improving transparency, reducing algorithmic bias, protecting privacy, and strengthening public trust in AI systems. It aims to promote digital inclusion by expanding connectivity and AI access for underserved communities.
