Global Consumer Goods Firms Pledge Double-Digit Growth in India

Global consumer goods companies are increasing their investments in India to expand their retail presence in one of the world's fastest-growing markets.

Nestle, L'Oreal, Unilever, Mondelez International, Reckitt, and The Coca-Cola Company have all reported strong sales growth in India during the June quarter, with some companies indicating that they expect double-digit growth from the market.

Nestle India reported a 48.26% on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹958.68 crore, while Unilever CEO Fernando Fernandez described India as its 'second-largest market' and said it had accelerated strongly during the quarter.
