Global Hotel Rates Set for Significant Increases in 2027

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) has released its Hotel Monitor 2027 report, forecasting significant hotel rate increases globally in 2027. The forecast is based on a combination of Amex GBT data and inflation/GDP forecasts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The report finds that resilient corporate travel and meetings demand, along with continued inflation, will contribute to higher prices across the Americas and Europe.

However, the pace of rate increases varies significantly by market. For example, São Paulo is projected to see one of the largest increases, with rates forecast to rise 10.9%-12.2% in 2027.
