Goldman Sachs Bets on India's Lord's Mark Industries with Strategic Stake
Goldman Sachs has made its first foray into India's Lord's Mark Industries through an open-market transaction. The deal, announced in September 2026, involved Goldman Sachs Investments Mauritius I buying a stake alongside AT Trade Overseas, part of the Hisaria Group.
The stake was acquired from Dr Sachidanand Hariram Upadhyay, who is the promoter of Lord's Mark Industries. He sold roughly 1 crore shares to meet the Securities and Exchange Board of India's Minimum Public Shareholding rules, which require listed companies to keep a set portion of shares in public hands.
Despite the sale, the promoter group retains a substantial holding in the company, indicating that they remain committed to its growth. Lord's Mark Industries is expanding across its healthcare, diagnostics, and energy verticals, with the new investors adding visibility to its shareholder base.
