Goldman Sachs Boosts AI Push with New Pacific Northwest Engineering Hub
Goldman Sachs has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities by opening a new engineering office in Bellevue, Washington. This marks the bank's first dedicated engineering space in the Pacific Northwest and will house over 125 employees initially.
The move is part of Goldman's strategy to stay adaptable in a rapidly changing technological landscape, with CEO David Solomon emphasizing that hiring exceptional talent is key to keeping pace. In 2025, Goldman received over one million experienced-hire applications, a 33% increase year-over-year.
The new office will focus on AI and cloud transformation using the firm's 'One GS' operational model, which centralizes AI development across client onboarding, risk management, and sales enablement. This shift reflects Goldman's hiring philosophy, with a tilt towards engineering and data science roles as AI tools drive productivity gains.
