Goldman Sachs Boosts Dividend Amid Record-Setting Quarter
The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., a global investment banking and securities firm, raised its quarterly common dividend to $5.00 per share from $4.50 after net earnings rose 78% in the second quarter.
The increased payout is based on a record-breaking quarter for the company, with net revenues rising 39% to $20.34 billion. Net earnings were $6.63 billion, and diluted earnings per share climbed 92% to $20.98 from $10.91.
Equities revenue jumped 72% to $7.42 billion, while fixed income, currency, and commodities rose 32% to $4.59 billion. Investment banking fees grew 55% to $3.40 billion, with equity underwriting more than doubling to $985 million.
