Goldman Sachs Executive Matt Gibson Named President of Strategic Value Partners

Strategic Value Partners (SVP) has named Matt Gibson as its new President. Gibson, a seasoned Goldman Sachs executive, brings over 25 years of experience to the role. He will join SVP in February 2027 and oversee non-investment activities, including client relations and firmwide infrastructure.

Gibson's background spans investment banking, asset management, and global client businesses. At Goldman Sachs, he led the Global Client Business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, overseeing over 1,000 sales and product specialist professionals across institutional, wealth, and insurance distribution channels.

As President, Gibson will also help lead longer-term strategic initiatives designed to build on SVP's existing alternative investment platform. He will remain involved in investment-related activity through deal sourcing in sectors where he has significant experience, including power and infrastructure.
