Goldman Sachs Hits $10bn Mark for European Private Credit Fund
Goldman Sachs Alternatives has achieved a significant milestone in its European private credit strategy, surpassing $10bn in assets. The fund, launched in October 2023 as part of the firm's European senior direct lending platform, allocates investments alongside the company's flagship closed-ended senior direct lending family of funds.
The strategy's portfolio currently has exposure to more than 400 companies, including private credit loans to over 100 firms. Stephanie Rader, global co-head of alternatives capital formation at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, attributed this success to the opportunity-set in the region's private credit market and the client partnerships built over the past three years.
The $10bn milestone is part of the firm's broader $230bn credit alternatives business, with its private credit platform having invested in the European direct lending market since 1996. Goldman Sachs Asset Management's overall alternatives business has $706bn in assets.
