Goldman Sachs Issues Trigger Autocallable GEARS Linked to Unequally Weighted Basket of Equity Indices
The Goldman Sachs Group has issued a new financial product called the GS Finance Corp. Trigger Autocallable GEARS Linked to an Unequally Weighted Basket of Equity Indices due 2031, which is guaranteed by The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
The securities are based on the performance of an unequally weighted basket comprised of the EURO STOXX 50 Index (40% weighting), the Nikkei 225 (25% weighting), the FTSE 100 Index (17.5% weighting), the Swiss Market Index (10% weighting), and the S&P/ASX 200 Index (7.5% weighting).
The securities will mature on August 29, 2031, unless they are automatically called on September 3, 2027. If the final basket level is greater than the initial basket level, investors will receive a payment equal to the face amount of their securities plus a return equal to the basket return times the upside gearing.
The contingent repayment of principal applies only at maturity, and any payment on the securities is subject to the creditworthiness of GS Finance Corp. and The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
