Goldman Sachs has reaffirmed its 'Buy' ratings for Samsung and SK Hynix, citing favorable memory price trends. According to a report by Goldman Sachs, PC DRAM prices are expected to rise 18%-23% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of 2026, driven by strong demand from AI data centers.

The report notes that spot market prices for DDR5 16Gb chips have risen rapidly since the second half of 2025 and currently trade at a premium of approximately 16% over the latest contract prices. This indicates continued tightness in spot market supply and demand.

Server DRAM price trends remain robust, with prices rising by 1% month-on-month in August for DDR5 64GB modules. TrendForce forecasts server DRAM prices will rise by 13%-18% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter, consistent with Goldman Sachs' projection.
