Goldman Sachs Ordered to Pay £1.45 Million in Discrimination Case
A British employment tribunal has ordered Goldman Sachs International to pay £1.45 million in damages following a discrimination claim brought by a former employee, Reeves v Goldman Sachs International.
The tribunal found that the employee was unfairly dismissed and subjected to direct sex discrimination after taking an extended period of shared parental leave.
The judgment also concluded that the redundancy process adopted by Goldman Sachs was unfair.
In its remedy judgment, the Employment Tribunal awarded compensation for past and future financial losses, injury to feelings, and other consequential losses.
