Goldman Sachs Raises $9.6 Billion for Flagship Private Equity Fund
Goldman Sachs Alternatives has announced the final close of West Street Capital Partners IX and its related vehicles, raising $9.6 billion in total capital to invest in leading companies worldwide. This brings the total capital raised globally to $11.7 billion.
The fund's strategy will focus on upper-middle-market control investments in sectors such as business services, financial services, technology, healthcare, consumer, and energy transition.
Brad Gross, Global Co-Head of Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, noted that the enthusiasm of their global investor base reflects strong confidence in the strength of their franchise and ability to deliver attractive returns across market cycles.
The team has already invested in several companies across various geographies and sectors, including Schellman, a leading U.S.-based provider of cybersecurity audit and compliance services.
