Goldman Sachs Takes Helm of IG Wealth's Strategic Portfolios

IG Wealth Management has partnered with Goldman Sachs Asset Management to manage its IG Strategic Wealth Portfolios. This move brings in Goldman's multi-asset team and their flagship strategies, which will decide how much is invested in stocks, bonds, and other assets.

The goal is broader diversification: Goldman can plug in global equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies instead of relying on a smaller set of underlying funds. Existing holdings will be complemented by new Goldman Sachs strategies.

This change may affect performance, as past results may not be a reliable guide once Goldman starts managing the portfolios. When a sub-adviser is switched, more than just the logo changes - the mix of underlying strategies and rebalancing choices can shift.
