Goldman Sachs Unleashes US$15.77 Billion Bond Bonanza
Goldman Sachs has made a significant move in the bond market by issuing six new bonds worth a total of US$15.77 billion in July.
This makes it the second largest corporate issuer for the month, just behind Amazon, which issued even more debt in the same period.
The bank's euro and dollar bond offerings were split into three tranches each, with varying coupon rates ranging from 3.273% to 6.215%. The US$10 billion dollar bond issue was made on July 21, while the euro offering worth US$5.77 billion was issued a day later.
All of Goldman Sachs' new bonds carry an A credit rating. This is consistent with the bank's own ratings from Fitch and S&P Global, which have given it an A rating with a positive outlook and BBB+/A-2 respectively.
