Goldman Sachs Vet Joins Polymarket to Drive Institutional Growth
Polymarket has made a significant move in its effort to attract deeper Wall Street liquidity by hiring Lisa Mantil as head of institutional growth. A nearly three-decade veteran of Goldman Sachs, Mantil most recently served as a partner and global head of the bank's ETF accelerator.
Mantil will join Polymarket as it expands its U.S. business after an official launch in May. Her appointment comes as prediction markets seek to broaden participation beyond retail traders.
Trading activity has grown over the past year, with sports-related offerings driving much of the increased retail interest. However, platforms now pursue institutional liquidity and larger traders. Mantil's experience and relationships will support Polymarket's expansion, according to CEO and founder Shayne Coplan.
Mantil will focus on developing Polymarket's institutional business and extending the use of prediction markets across investment and risk-management strategies. Institutional adoption remains in its early stages, with regulatory disputes over oversight of sports-related event contracts creating uncertainty around how those products can operate across the country.
