Goldman Sachs Veteran Matt Gibson Named President of Strategic Value Partners

Strategic Value Partners (SVP) has appointed Matt Gibson as its new President. The former Goldman Sachs executive will take up his role in February 2027.

Gibson brings over 25 years of experience to the position, including 16 years as a Partner at Goldman Sachs. Most recently, he led the Global Client Business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, overseeing a team of over 1,000 professionals.

In his new role, Gibson will be responsible for leading SVP's non-investment activities, including client relations and firm-wide infrastructure. He will also drive longer-term strategic initiatives that build on the company's existing platform.
