Goldman Sachs Weighs Leadership Succession Amid Waldron's Rise
Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s (GS) stock edged higher in premarket trading after reports emerged that the bank is considering a leadership transition.
Citing people familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal reported that Chief Operating Officer John Waldron could replace current CEO David Solomon as soon as next year.
Waldron, who joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 and currently serves as president and COO, is reportedly being considered to take over as CEO by the end of 2027 or in 2028.
Solomon, according to the report, will likely stay on the board as executive chairman for about one to two years after stepping down as CEO.
