Goldman Tapped to Back Nvidia's $500 Billion AI Financing Push
Goldman Sachs is in talks with potential investors to participate in Nvidia's $500 billion AI financing initiative. This massive undertaking aims to support the buildout of AI infrastructure over time, according to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
The financing will be structured through Goldman's private credit and debt structures, with a core investor base comprising US insurers, money managers, and banks.
Nvidia has partnered with six major financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, to launch compute platforms aimed at raising over $500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure.
The deal is significant, as it highlights the growing demand for AI computing capacity and the need for institutional investors to support this growth. Nvidia's worth has reached about $5.2 trillion, making it the most valuable publicly listed company in the United States.
Goldman Sachs' involvement in the deal is not surprising, given its long-standing relationship with Nvidia. The bank has advised Nvidia on several transactions and has a close tie with the chipmaker's CEO, Jensen Huang.
