Goldman Taps Lyons as Co-Head of UK Investment Banking

Goldman Sachs has appointed Simon Lyons as co-head of its UK investment banking division. Lyons, who previously worked at UBS and PJT Partners, will join alongside existing co-head Nimesh Khiroya.

Lyons' appointment comes as Goldman Sachs continues to expand its market share in the UK and European dealmaking space. The bank has already made significant gains this year, ranking top for UK M&A with $175 billion in value from 69 deals according to LSEG data.

Goldman Sachs' UK investment banking division has advised on several notable deals recently, including Unilever Foods' merger with McCormick and Zurich's takeover of Beazley. The bank has also grown its share of mergers and acquisitions advisory work involving Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in the first half of 2026.
