Google Accelerates Gemini 4 Launch Amid Rising Competition from Meta
Google DeepMind's chief, Koray Kavukcuoglu, announced that Gemini 4 has entered early post-training and is set to launch 'much earlier' than initially expected.
This comes as Google faces increasing competition in the AI space, particularly from Meta's Muse AI agent. Recently, Alphabet Inc.'s shares fell nearly 5% over two sessions due to investor concerns over competition from Meta's AI advancements.
Gemini 4 has shown promising results, and Kavukcuoglu expressed excitement about rolling out an early post-training version as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei urged governments to cooperate on global AI safety standards during a recent appearance before the United Nations Security Council.
