Google Adds AI Mode Button to Search Bar in Test
Google is testing the addition of an AI Mode button to its search bar when users are inside the search results page. This change comes after the company has already rolled out the AI Mode button in other areas, such as on its home page.
Dwayne Cubbins, a user who first spotted this change, wondered if Google is trying to encourage people to use AI Mode for follow-up searches from the results page. However, when tested by another writer, it was possible to search normally even with the AI Mode button present.
The AI Mode button does not always appear, even after triggering it for some queries, and may be subject to testing options on how it works. This change is still in its experimental phase, and users may see varying results when searching.
