Google Adds NFC Support to Find Hub Trackers in October Update
Google’s latest October System Services update has introduced a handy feature for users of Find Hub-compatible trackers: NFC support. This allows you to tap a tracker with your phone to quickly access its details or identify a lost item. For example, if someone finds a lost backpack with a tracker inside, they can now easily determine who owns it by tapping the tag.
The update also simplifies the setup process for Find Hub trackers. Users can now name tags, categorize items, and enable features like Left-Behind Reminders during registration, making it more convenient to configure their trackers.
Additionally, the update includes minor improvements such as card artwork and payment network logos in tokenization notifications, making it easier to identify which card is being referenced. There’s also a small change for apps using Google Maps features, allowing access to terms and attribution information through the info icon beside the Google Maps logo.
These updates aim to make Find Hub trackers more user-friendly and efficient, enhancing their functionality as reliable item trackers.
