Google Ads Tests Advertiser Name in Call Extensions

Google Ads is experimenting with a new feature that displays the advertiser's name alongside the click-to-call phone number in sponsored listings. Typically, Google only shows the phone number, but this test includes the advertiser's name directly within the call asset.

The change was noticed by Khushal Bherwani, who shared a screenshot of the test on X (formerly Twitter). In the screenshot, the phone number includes the advertiser's name, which is a departure from the usual format where the name appears at the bottom of the ad.

This test could potentially make ads more transparent and help users quickly identify the advertiser when calling. However, it remains to be seen whether this change will be rolled out widely or remain a limited test.
