Google Ads has announced that it will begin automatically identifying and extracting high-quality promotions from advertisers' websites starting October 12, 2026. These promotions, such as coupons and deals, will be applied directly to Search and Performance Max campaigns linked to location assets. The feature, known as automated promotions, aims to enhance ad performance by providing users with valid offers without requiring manual setup by advertisers.

The feature is being rolled out as an opt-out system, meaning advertisers will be automatically enrolled unless they choose to disable it. To turn off automated promotions, advertisers can navigate to their account-level automated assets settings and select 'Off' under the Automated Promotions option.

This update follows the earlier launch of automated promotions by Google, but marks the first time the company is formally communicating the change to advertisers. The feature is currently limited to campaigns that do not already have promotion assets attached.
