Google and Constellation Energy ink 3,590 MW clean energy deals
Google and Constellation Energy have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) totaling 3,590 megawatts (MW) to support the tech giant’s clean energy goals. The agreements include 890 MW from nuclear uprates and 2,700 MW from existing power generation within the PJM grid. This partnership will enhance the output capacity of Constellation Energy’s Limerick Clean Energy Center, contributing to Google’s broader sustainability initiatives.
The nuclear uprates, which would cost $4.3 billion, are expected to add 890 MW to the PJM grid. This significant investment underscores the growing emphasis on nuclear energy as a reliable source of clean power. The remaining 2,700 MW will come from existing power generation facilities, further diversifying Google’s energy portfolio.
These PPAs represent a strategic move for both companies. For Google, the agreements align with its commitment to operating on carbon-free energy. For Constellation Energy, the deal reinforces its role in providing large-scale clean energy solutions. The terms of the PPAs were announced on October 6, 2026, by John Cropley.
