Google Antigravity Exposes the Limitations of Android Compatibility
Google's latest app listing, Antigravity, has appeared on the Play Store, but it's not for regular Android phones. Despite its familiar storefront, Google describes Antigravity as an agent-first development platform designed specifically for Googlebooks.
The app's Play Store listing warns that it's incompatible with regular Android devices, and attempting to sideload it onto a Pixel phone resulted in a poorly scaled interface and failed setup experience due to permission issues.
Googlebook OS is built on the Android stack, which means the Play Store can now serve apps that look like they belong on Android but were never meant for phones. Other Googlebook-specific apps have already appeared on the store, including Look up and Desktop Camera.
