Google Axes Software Support for Older Pixel Phones

Google has officially discontinued software support for its Pixel phones from the Pixel 1 through the Pixel 5 series. This means that these devices will no longer receive new features or security patches, leaving users vulnerable to malware and viruses.

The good news is that newer models, such as the Pixel 8 and above, still receive updates for seven years from their U.S. release date. For example, the Pixel 10a will continue to get updates until March 2033, while the Pixel 9a will stop receiving updates in April 2032.

However, users of older models can still consider upgrading to a newer device or opting for custom OS installation, which involves installing a new operating system on their device. This process can be technical and may not work for everyone.
