Google-Backed BAG Ventures Closes $11.3M Fund for Pre-Seed and Seed Stage Startups
BAG Ventures has closed its inaugural fund, securing $11.3 million in backing from prominent investors including Google and Amazon.
The venture capital firm was co-founded by Bonita C. Stewart and Jackson Georges Jr., both of whom bring significant experience to the table: Stewart spent 18 years as vice president of global partnerships, while Georges worked at Google on large customer sales and HR, and later served as a partner at CapitalG focused on portfolio growth.
The fund will focus on investing in innovative pre-seed and seed-stage startups in areas such as AI infrastructure, vertical SaaS, security, and governance, with check sizes ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. BAG Ventures' network of LPs and advisors includes industry leaders like Darian Shirazi (Gradient), David Krane (GV), Laela Sturdy (CapitalG) and Robin Washington (Salesforce).
The firm's support was instrumental in the success of companies such as BizTrip, an AI travel agent, and Nomadic, an agentic reasoning platform that converts footage from autonomous vehicles and robots into structured, searchable datasets.
