Google has partnered with Nevoya and the Center for Green Market Activation (GMA) to launch a fleet of electric trucks on the Houston-Dallas freight route. The partnership will deploy 25 battery-electric Class 8 trucks, along with charging infrastructure, to reduce carbon emissions.

The trucks are part of a larger project that includes 63 vehicles, representing the largest known deployment of Class 8 battery-electric trucks in Texas. The fleet is expected to travel over 11 million miles annually and cut an estimated 92,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions compared to diesel trucks.

Google will benefit from the environmental advantages generated by its portion of the project through environmental attribute certificates (EACs). These certificates enable companies to address logistics emissions associated with their supply chains by supporting lower-emission freight operations.
