Google Beam Expands to Co-Working Spaces with Industrious Partnership
Google is expanding its 3D meeting booths, called Google Beam, to co-working spaces in the US. The technology was previously only available to large companies, including Bain & Company, Netflix, and Capital Group.
A study by Google found that teams using Beam felt 50% more connected to one another, had it 33% easier to ensure their feedback was clearly understood, and saw a 21% drop in the need for follow-up meetings. The company is now launching its first 'Beam extended network' with Industrious, a global operator of premium flexible workspaces.
The Beam units will be available at locations in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and Palo Alto, supporting Google Meet and Zoom. This expansion is part of a larger partnership between Google and 18 channel partners to ship Beam units globally, including the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, and Japan.
