Google Blocks Scrapers as Data Collection Tools Feel the Impact
Google's efforts to block scrapers and tracking tools have been successful since around September 13th, according to reports from several data collection tools. This coincides with a series of updates from Google on September 4th, 12th, and 15th.
Derek Perkins from Nozzle reported an 80% drop in data he was able to collect from Google, while DataForSEO also experienced a significant reduction in data collection. Sistrix's status page noted that their data collection is currently running at a reduced rate due to changes made by Google.
Glenn Gabe posted charts showing the impact of these changes on data collection tools like ahrefs, Semrush, and Sistrix. He found that while some tools were still able to collect data, others were blocked or collecting it at a slower pace.
