Google Bolsters Pixel 11 Pro's HiLight with Message Support

Google has finally given its Pixel 11 Pro's HiLight LED feature a much-needed boost. The latest Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 update introduces support for messages, allowing the HiLight LED to glow twice when receiving a message from a favorite contact.

This new feature can be enabled under the 'Manage Experiences' section in Settings > System > HiLight. Users can also manually enable or disable HiLight for calls and messages for individual contacts by going to their contact page.

While this update brings some much-needed functionality, it's surprising that Google took so long to introduce message support for HiLight. Additionally, new colors for the HiLight LED are still missing, which might be rolled out in a later update.
