Google Boosts Pixel 10a Price Amid Global Component Cost Surge
Google has quietly increased the price of its Pixel 10a smartphone in the US. The base model, which comes with 128GB of storage, now costs $599 on the official Google Store and at major third-party retailers. This represents a direct price hike of $100 from its original launch price of $499.
The price adjustment affects both available storage configurations of the handset, including the 256GB variant, which is now priced at $699. The move follows earlier guidance from Google warning that memory supply chain pressures would lead to price adjustments across current hardware portfolios, not just future releases like the Pixel 11 series.
The surge in component costs is primarily driven by intense demand for memory chips within artificial intelligence data centers, which has tightened global silicon supplies and increased manufacturing expenses for consumer devices. Phone makers are passing these component costs down to buyers.
