Google Bows Down to Trump's Executive Order Renaming Lake Ontario

Google Maps has been updating its maps for American users to reflect the newly renamed Lake Ontario as Lake America. According to Google, it updates Maps based on official government sources, so US users would see 'Lake America' while Canadian users would still see 'Lake Ontario.'

However, this change has sparked a backlash from some users who called it 'pathetic' and an instance of distributing misinformation. Some have also criticized Google for bowing down to Trump's executive order.

Canadian politicians have also weighed in on the issue, with Stephen Crawford, a member of Ontario's provincial parliament, stating that some Canadian government websites displayed 'Lake America' because they pull map data from Google Maps. He added that his province is actively reviewing its websites to ensure they correctly identify Lake Ontario as Lake Ontario.

On the other hand, Trump supporters have welcomed the change and lauded Google for making it.
