Google Brings Contacts Back to Bottom Bar in Phone App Revamp

Google is reportedly working on revamping its Phone app navigation layout to make it easier for users to access their contacts. The company has been testing a new design that places the Contacts tab in the bottom navigation bar, alongside Home and Keypad.

This change comes after Google moved the Contacts tab to the sidebar last year as part of a redesign. However, this move was met with criticism from users who found it inconvenient to have to open the sidebar every time they needed to access their contacts.

The new layout is currently available in the latest beta version of the Phone by Google app and appears to be working as expected. It's unclear when Google plans to roll out the update publicly, but it could happen soon.
