Google Brings Flipkart Shopping to Gemini and AI Mode

Google is testing an AI-powered shopping experience in India through its partnership with Walmart-owned e-commerce platform Flipkart. The pilot, which began in October, allows select users to buy Flipkart products directly from Google's Gemini and AI Mode.

The 'Buy' button appears on selected Flipkart product listings, taking shoppers directly to a Flipkart-branded checkout flow without requiring them to separately open the e-commerce platform. The early test covers products including smartphones, electronics, and mobile accessories.

Google reportedly plans to expand the experience more broadly later in October, ahead of India's festive shopping season. The feature is currently limited to some users and a small selection of products.
