Google has released a dedicated Gemini app for Windows 10 and 11, expanding its desktop footprint.

The new app is available on both x86 and Arm platforms and offers a floating overlay that can be summoned with Alt + Space anywhere in Windows.

This allows users to access Google's AI model without relying on browser extensions or having a browser tab permanently pinned.

The Gemini app for Windows also includes a full desktop workspace, enabling users to connect with Google Workspace tools like Gmail, Docs, Drive, and Calendar.

In addition to the floating overlay, the app allows users to render custom images using Google's Nano Banana image generation model and access their chat history and memory across devices.
