Windows 11 Home Setup Bypasses Microsoft Account Requirement with Hidden Link
Microsoft has found a new way to let Windows 11 Home users create a local account during setup, bypassing the requirement for a Microsoft account.
A small 'Learn more' link beneath the 'Sign-in options' on the Microsoft account page leads to the local-account creation screen.
Windows Latest tested this method on a fresh virtual machine using the latest Windows 11 Home ISO and reached the local-account screen without needing to use Command Prompt, Registry Editor or disconnect from the internet.
This new workaround is reportedly working after the normal out-of-box setup reaches the 'Let's add your Microsoft account' page, under 'Sign-in options', where users can enter a local username, password, and three security questions.
