Google Brings Pixel Watch 5 Smart Wake Feature to Older Models
Google has quietly added a feature called Smart Wake to its older Pixel Watch models, including the Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4. This comes as part of the September update, which was announced alongside other features such as Raise to Talk improvements and bug fixes.
Smart Wake is a sleep-related feature that monitors heart rate and movement during the 30 minutes before an alarm goes off. It then looks for a period of lighter sleep and starts a gentler alarm before the final deadline. This approach is less rigid than traditional alarms, which can be jarring and disrupt sleep patterns.
The setting lives inside the standard Alarm app, making it easily accessible to users. Smart Wake remains optional and is switched off by default, allowing users who prefer a more traditional alarm experience to continue using it as usual.
