Google Brings Scam Alerts and Easy Contact Access to Pixel Devices
Google has rolled out new features for its Pixel users, aiming to make their experience more convenient and secure. The latest update includes improvements to the Pixel VIP feature, which allows users to designate up to eight contacts as close friends and family. With this update, users can create home screen widgets that provide easy access to these frequent contacts.
Another significant addition is the Scam Detection alerts in the Gboard keyboard. This feature will warn users of potential scam text messages, helping them avoid falling prey to phishing attempts. The Scam Detection alerts are not limited to the keyboard and can also be found in notifications, with a regional expansion that supports more languages.
The update also brings two months of Audible access for Pixel users, coinciding with the release of new Harry Potter audiobooks. Additionally, Google is introducing Harry Potter theme packs for customizing home screens, icons, and sounds on Pixel devices. This promotion ties in with the Audible release of the full-cast audio editions.
