Google Buys Goleta Campus for $32.5M, Expands Quantum Computing Presence
Google has expanded its presence in Goleta by purchasing an 83,356-square-foot campus for $32.5 million. The two-building property at 147 and 153 Castilian Drive sits on roughly five acres near the intersection of Los Carneros Road and Hollister Avenue.
The purchase adds to Google's existing footprint in the area, which now totals approximately 300,000 square feet. This expansion is part of the tech giant's growing presence in Goleta, a city known for its research and innovation hub.
The newly acquired property is less than a mile from another Google location at 6868 Cortona Drive and a Quantum AI lab at 301 Mentor Drive. The latter is connected to Google's work with UC Santa Barbara on quantum computing research.
