Google Challenges EU Mandate to Open Up Android

Google is fighting back against an EU move to make its Android operating system more open. The European Commission's Digital Markets Act, aimed at increasing competition in the digital market, wants Google to allow rival AI bots on its platform and provide search data to competing providers.

The Alphabet Inc. unit is contesting this attempt through a court appeal under the General Court in Luxembourg. According to Google, allowing this move would compromise users' security.
