Google Chat Saves Unfinished Messages with New Persistent Drafts

Google's messaging service, Google Chat, is introducing a new feature to save users from lost messages. The persistent drafts in Chat will keep unfinished messages saved directly in the compose box, even after closing the app or restarting the device.

This means that users can now leave a message halfway through, come back later, and continue writing exactly where they left off. Drafts will sync across devices, allowing users to start a message on one device and finish it on another without having to copy the text somewhere else first.

The feature is already available on the web, with Android and iOS availability expected by September 28. Persistent drafts will be available to Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
