Google Cloud Aims for Tripled Tech Footprint in Brazil by 2030
Google Cloud announced its plans to double its technical infrastructure in Brazil by 2030. The company aims to increase localized compute, storage, and high-performance AI processing to meet growing demand for AI solutions.
The move is part of Google's efforts to support Brazilian businesses' adoption of artificial intelligence. As Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud Chief Executive Officer, said, 'As businesses are deploying more agentic AI, customers are telling us that they often run into the same three problems: cost, unclear business value, and the need for enterprise-grade controls.'
Google is expanding its Forward-Deployed-Engineers program in Brazil, which embeds specialized AI engineers directly into customer technical teams to help develop core business applications.
The company will also provide 10,000 free certification vouchers for developers in Brazil to support the local tech ecosystem. This move is part of Google's broader goal to upskill three million Brazilians in AI and cloud technologies by 2030.
