Google Cloud Teams with Accenture to Deploy AI Engineers into Enterprises
Google Cloud is accelerating its efforts to catch up in the AI deployment wars by partnering with Accenture. The two companies have created a joint unit, Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, which will focus on deploying engineers into enterprises to help them adopt Google's AI tools and services.
The new unit aims to address the challenges faced by enterprises in integrating AI models into their workflows. Despite significant investments in AI, many companies struggle to see a return on investment, and Google Cloud is attempting to resolve this bottleneck with its forward-deployed engineers (FDEs) program.
Google's FDE model involves training engineers to work with enterprises and build custom AI applications on the Gemini Enterprise platform. The company has already launched a $750 million partner ecosystem commitment that embedded Google's own FDEs across multiple consultancies, including Capgemini, Cognizant, and Deloitte.
Google Cloud's parent company Alphabet accumulated $811 billion in purchase commitments and contractual obligations as of June 30. The company generated $24.8 billion in the second quarter, with a significant portion driven by enterprise AI. However, the revenue directly attributable to AI remains a fraction of the investment.
