Meta's Like Count Hiding Sparks Questions on Engagement Metrics
Meta is rolling out changes to its platforms as part of an $18 billion settlement with 47 states. The company will hide like counts, disable filters that alter appearance, and cap teen use at two hours a day. These defaults will arrive within six months of the agreement taking effect. Age assurance will determine which users are subject to these limits, with Meta having one year to implement it.
Nvidia agreed to buy Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, its second-largest acquisition ever. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approval. Nvidia has committed to keeping Hugging Face as an open platform and supporting other silicon vendors.
