Google Commits $14.6 Billion to Finnish Digital Infrastructure
Google has announced it will invest at least $14.6 billion in digital infrastructure in Finland between 2027 and 2028, marking its largest single investment in Europe to date.
The plan includes data center construction and related infrastructure across four locations: Hamina, Kajaani, Muhos, and Vaala.
Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google, stated that 'Google is proud to deepen our roots in Finland with the company's largest single investment in Europe.'
The investment will support long-term grid resilience and decarbonization targets, with a focus on clean energy and grid strengthening.
