Google's transition away from Google Assistant is complete. The change began in September after an email was sent to users informing them that Google Assistant would be phased out and replaced with Gemini.

The final switch was expected to take a few weeks, from September 3, but it appears the process has been completed earlier than anticipated.

According to Droid Life, users can no longer switch between the two digital assistants. The 'Switch to Google Assistant' button in Gemini settings is gone, and searching through settings on devices such as Pixel phones comes up empty.
